Help Rescue the Mainframe Crew from Rainmaker!

Reboot was the first weekly computer animated cartoon.  Released in 1994 and running through 2001 the series was also very good taking a dark turn and ending at a cliff hanger.  The company behind the show, Rainmaker, then went dark.  Finally releasing a box set of the series in 2011 and hinting that they would be continuing the series.  Then 7 years later Rainmaker not only let us fans down, they actively insulted us.  Instead of continuing the series from where they left off the company's Chief Creative Officer Michael Hefferon decided to take the Reboot property and turn it into a Power Ranger's clone named "Reboot: The Guardian Code".  Taking the well known and loved characters and relegating them to the 10th episode of the series.  No care was taken with these characters and this shows with the poor modeling, animation, audio editing, and even character writing in this episode.

I mentioned earlier that the new series was actively insulting to fans of the existing series.  This is evident in the portrayal of "the user".  In the original series "Users" were unknown god like entities who input games for pleasure forcing the Mainframe crew to fight and defend their home.  In Reboot: The Guardian Code they actually showed "The User" to be a middle age man living in his mother's basement surrounded by Reboot merchandise waiting for a old mainframe to come online for 20 years.  Classy.

A excellent review of Reboot: The Guardian code is here on youtube.

I compiled my thoughts into a letter and contacted Rainmaker Entertainment via their Facebook page.  Supprisingly they not only returned my message they actively chatted with me about this.  Here is the contents of that conversation.

Right now Rainmaker is using Reboot: The Guardian Code's performance on Netflix to justify whether or not to continue the original series.  Unfortunately they are effectively holding their quality show hostage and forcing the community to accept this new series in the hopes they will continue the original.

As fans of the original series there are a few things we can do to give Rainmaker, Netflix, and YTV a wake-up call.  First off if you don't already have it please buy the box set of the original Reboot series.

Second don't watch "Reboot: The Guardian Code" on Netflix.  It's really not worth your time.

Finally, we need to start writing letters and mailing them to Rainmaker Entertainment, Netflix, and YTV.  Swamping their offices with mail sends a clear message.  Below I've hammered out a standard letter, but feel free to write your own.

Dear Rainmaker Studios \ Netflix \ YTV,
I am writing you today to express support of a 5th season of the classic Reboot series.  The release of Reboot: The Guardian Code has been viewed by fans of the classic series as a poor substitute at best, and blatantly insulting to fans at worst.  The performance of this series should not be used to judge interest in continuing the classic series.
Sincerely,

You'll want to print two copies and mail them to the following addresses.
